About

Leeds Emergency Active Travel Group

Jointly led by the University of Leeds and Leeds City Council, the Leeds Emergency Active Travel Group (LEATG)  was set up in June 2020 as a time limited partnership, to support the rollout of Leeds COVID-19 emergency active travel measures. The Group is trialing a ‘coproduction’ approach where partners explore problems and co-create solutions together. This format is based on ongoing cross sector work in Leeds such as Leeds ACTS and Leeds City Lab.

Aims of the Group

The aims of the group are:

To create a partnership to inform COVID-19 emergency active travel measures in Leeds, and support permanent work going forward in the future

To be a critical friend to Leeds City Council, being encouraging and supportive as well as providing candid feedback on each stage of the design, development and delivery of emergency active travel measures

To share skills, insights, expertise and resources which support the rollout of COVID-19 emergency active travel measures in Leeds.

To be open and transparent by sharing information about the Group’s activities publicly (via this website, facebook, twitter etc) and with other groups in Leeds working on active travel (Living Streets, Sustrans, Leeds Cycling Campaign, Clean Air Alliance etc)
